Exorcism is derived from the Greek word "exorkizein" which means "to bind by oath". Evil spirits or demons possess a persons body and are then exorcised by a higher authority. The question is, do evil spirits or demons exist? Can they possess a persons body? After dying, do some spirits linger? Possibly attaching themselves to the living? Do they wish us harm? Is it imaginable that the living can converse with the deceased?
Many cultures believe this is true. Some even embrace spirit possession as a essential part of their spirital practices. Personally, I think psychologically one can psycho simatically create fictitous symptoms similar to a person being possessed unkowningly. However, haven spoken to people who have physically experienced exorcisms, Im not sure what I believe. I was both engrossed in their stories and terrified. Kersi, your thoughts are appreciated...

Exorcism

Exorcism

Okay, this time I am going a little left field. I have always been fascinated with exorcisms. They literally have scared me to death. What are they? Is it really evil spirits or beings that take over someones soul? Watch this clip. What are your thoughts, automatic reactions? Skepticism? I want to know.
So, just curious what everyone thinks of this video clip? Personally, I think it's a farce. Totally a take on previous Japanese movies, IE: the Grudge? Well, check out the video bar. My favourite is the ghost in the pantry. My husband and I watched at least 10 times. I am 90% sold. However with technology now of these days, it could be some sort of projection of sorts. However, it still scared me.....a little. Im waiting for that, holy shit thats amazing clip. Let me know what you think. Or better let me see it !!

For all you believers out there I'm curious what you think of Paranormal State? Personally, I was disappointed. I was lured in with the little boy only to be left hanging. What happened? They blessed the house, had some sort of seance and then left the poor kid with nothing but a bottle of holy water. Thoughts anyone?

When I was young

For me it all started since I can remember. At the age of four I would beg my Grandparents to please leave the hall light on. They never did. I would repeatedly get woken up in the middle of the night. I was so scared. As I lied there I knew exactly what I was going to face. Turning my head I found myself starring at a cloudy mist hovering in my bedroom door way. As always it would move toward me forming a shape of a policeman literallyswing his billy club. It would get closer and closer until it dispersed. A second image was an Indian wearing a full head dress made out of feathers riding a horse. It too would approach me until it disappeared. Then came the final image which always followed the second. A cowboy, also on a horse, would ride right up to my face until he to vanished. Well, this happened every night till I was 13 when we sold the house and moved. Strangely enough gradually over the years of seeing these entities, I grew accustomed to them. Towards the end I would just watch them without fear gripping me. I realized they weren't there to harm me in anyway. Now looking back, I wounder if they had something to say? My career of encounters with spirits did not end in that house, but nothing has been as intense.

...in the beginning

Talk about being slapped in the face with destiny. When my good friend and I decided to start the blog together, it was really just for fun. I have a great passion for the paranormal and everything that falls in that category. Yes, I believe in ghosts, spirits, miracles and that acts of God happen. I believe everything was meant to happen for a reason. I don't believe in coincidences. So when brainstorming for a name together how strange was it when I wrote the name mysticghosts down on a piece of paper only to look at her, her eyes growing large literally having to sit down while fanning herself. That's when tears were welling up and softly she said, that's exactly the name I was thinking of. To our amazement, destiny just said hello and mysticghosts was created. Enjoy.
